Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH) traces its origins back to 1969 when local Muslim families gathered for prayer at a small house in the Medical Center. From this humble beginning, our community has expanded to encompass 19 masajid across greater Houston, establishing us as the largest Islamic Society in North America. This growth can be attributed to the commitment of our members over the years.

Generations of families have been part of our community, and ISGH has had the privilege of offering educational institutions for our youth. Together, ISGH has supported the academic journey of children through six full-time schools catering to students from pre-Kindergarten through high school. Additionally, we provide weekend programs and educational classes for adults, collectively educating 3500 students with a vision for the future.

Our pride extends to more than 150 students who have completed the Hafiz program at ISGH, mastering the memorization of the Quran.

In times of need, ISGH stands by families by offering comprehensive funeral services through two fully-equipped funeral homes and dedicated Muslim cemeteries.

Overseeing Zakat across the community, in 2012 alone, ISGH distributed $60,000 monthly to families in Houston. Supported by the community's generosity, we have contributed to major international relief efforts during natural disasters and local assistance initiatives.

The Shifa Clinics exemplify ISGH's commitment to healthcare by offering free medical services across four clinics. From ophthalmology to dentistry, wellness exams to immunizations, these clinics provide essential care to those in need.

For more than four decades, ISGH has engaged in Dawah programs, welcoming thousands to Islam while providing spiritual guidance and Quranic teachings. Our New Muslim Support Group is dedicated to helping newcomers nurture their spiritual growth.

Congregational prayers are held year-round at our masajid, complemented by bi-annual Eid Salat services. We extend a warm invitation for you to join us in prayer and contemplation.

From birth to end-of-life services, ISGH remains a cornerstone of Houston's Muslim community. The organization operates through five primary "zones," each led by elected officials who oversee the coordination of activities within their respective areas.
